Made In America Convention

Good morning! Today I’m straying a little from my recipe posts to share with you about a recent trip I took. A couple weeks ago I attended the Made In America convention in Indianapolis, Indiana.

Made in America 2019 Convention in Indianapolis, Indiana

What a cool experience. While small (this was the first year) it was a very powerful experience to see all of the brands and customers out to support the “Made in America” platform.

Kickoff of the Made in America Show

The show kicked off Thursday night with a performance from Big & Rich. As a huge country music fan myself, I couldn’t resist heading over to the kickoff show. I was totally surprised to have Ted Nugent show up to perform as well. They definitely had the room rockin!

While it was a great performance, the highlight of the evening for me was the military tribute they did. Honoring our active duty military as well as veterans was at the very heart of the evening. It was so emotional watching this tribute and hearing how energized the crowd was while they brought veterans out on stage.

On Friday I walked the show and it was wonderful to see all of the brands that I already use and didn’t realize were Made in America as well as discovering some new and interesting products and companies. It was such a great experience hearing from these companies, both small and large, about their work, how they got started, and how they strive to keep things made in America.  Some of these brands you will see featured in the coming weeks as I work to incorporate more of the products I saw at the show into my recipes and our camping trips.

An Important Note:

This post is in no way sponsored or endorsed by Made In America. I’m not receiving compensation for mentioning the show or describing my experience or any of the brands I saw at the show. I wrote this post because I enjoyed the show and feel that it is supporting an important cause.

While not camping, it was fun to spend the weekend in Indianapolis. The view from the hotel is certainly not a view I could have gotten from a campground. Sometimes it is nice to change things up, but I’m ready to get back out cooking by the camper!

Loved this sunset view!

Happy Camping!

P.S. Sorry for the lack of photos! I was so busy talking to the companies that I didn’t get a chance to take many photos.
