- 2 Bunches Asparagus Stems, Large
- 1 Lbs Bacon
- Salt
- 2 Tbsp Oil for cooking
Wash Asparagus spears and cut off the ends.
Cut bacon into half slices (Note: If asparagus spears are extra long or you like a lot of bacon, use the whole slice)
Wrap each slice of bacon at an angle around one spear of asparagus. When you finish wrapping, try to keep the start and end of the piece on the same side of the spear. This will help it stay wrapped as it cooks.
Heat Blackstone Griddle or fry pan over medium high heat. When preheated, drizzle a little cooking oil on the surface and place the asparagus spears bacon seam side down.
Flip the spears frequently to cook evenly and keep the bacon wrapped.
When the bacon is crisp and the asparagus spears are tender remove from heat and enjoy!
Thicker stem asparagus is better than thinner stems. They take longer to cook and get tender as the bacon is crisping up.
Use half to full slices of bacon. I tried cutting the pound of bacon into thirds the first time I made these and it was way to long.
If you don't have a Blackstone try cooking these in a cast iron pan! They turn out great as well.
